
- Dr Sandy Nairn
Dr Sandy Nairn, BSc, PhD, ASIP, CFA, Chief Executive and Investment Partner
Sandy researches the global Telecommunications sector and manages several client portfolios, including the Edinburgh Partners Global Opportunities Fund. He is a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Management Committee.
Sandy is one of the founders of Edinburgh Partners. Prior to establishing Edinburgh Partners he was Chief Investment Officer of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (November 2000 to March 2003) where he re-engineered the investment process and team such that performance was transformed from fourth to first quartile over the period.
Between 1990 and 2000 he was employed by Templeton Investment Management where he was Executive Vice President and the Director of Global Equity Research. During his time at Templeton, he was responsible for overseeing all research activities within the Templeton Group having spent the last year at Ft Lauderdale, Florida.
Before joining Templeton Investment Management, Sandy spent four years at Murray Johnstone as a portfolio manager and research analyst. Prior to that, he spent a year as an economist at the Scottish Development Agency.
Sandy graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 1982 and in 1985 he achieved a PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde/Scottish Business School. He is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals in the UK and is a CFA charterholder with AIMR in the United States.
In 2001 he published a book titled "Engines that Move Markets: Technology Investing from Railroads to the Internet and Beyond". He has won multiple performance awards for the management of global equity portfolios and most recently (2002) was short-listed for European Institutional CIO of the Year for his efforts in transforming the investment process and results at SWIP.

- Sam Bleakney
Sam Bleakney, BSSc (Hons), FCA, Finance Director
Sam is responsible for Edinburgh Partners' Finance function and supervises the company's Information Technology services.
Jointly with Kenneth Greig, Legal Director, Sam has overall responsibility for fund accounting and back office support functions, including the supervision and management of Edinburgh Partners' administration and accounting providers. He is also a member of the board of Directors and the Executive Management Committee.
Sam is a former Finance Director of Stocktrade, the execution-only brokerage division of Brewin Dolphin Holdings plc, and from 1990 to 2000, was employed by Franklin Templeton Investment Management. During his time at Franklin Templeton he held a variety of finance and investment accounting roles including that of European Chief Financial Officer.
Sam has a degree in Business Administration and Accounting, and a Diploma in Professional Accounting from Queen's University, Belfast. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

- Kenneth Greig
Kenneth Greig, BA (Hons), Legal Director
Kenny is responsible for all legal and regulatory teams at Edinburgh Partners, with responsibility for agreements with clients and service providers, the establishment and maintenance of investment trusts and funds and corporate and secretarial functions.
Jointly with Sam Bleakney, Finance Director, Kenny is responsible for overseeing Edinburgh Partner's administrative and operations functions. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Management Committee.
Kenny is one of the founders of Edinburgh Partners. Prior to helping to establish the Company he headed Scottish Widows Investment Partnership's Legal and Technical team which provided advice on, and managed the execution of new product development and strategic corporate matters. Prior to joining SWIP in February 2002, Kenny was Global Head of Legal Services for AXA Investment Managers. Before that he was Head of Legal and Compliance for Morgan Stanley Asset Management and Legal Director of Franklin Templeton International.
Kenny holds the degree of BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and has been admitted as a Solicitor (England & Wales) since 1986.

- Janet Price
Janet Price, MA Cantab.(First), FCSI, Client Service Partner, Head of Client Service and Sales
At Edinburgh Partners, Janet is in charge of the Company's global Client Service, Sales and Performance Measurement functions. She is a client director for segregated and pooled clients. Janet is also a member of the Executive Management Committee.
Janet joined Edinburgh Partners in January 2008 from Baillie Gifford, where she was a Client Service Director responsible for UK institutional segregated and pooled fund clients, with a particular focus on global unconstrained portfolios.
Previously, Janet was a Director of Research at BZW Securities and a Partner at de Zoete & Bevan Stockbrokers in London, where she was an equity analyst looking after the Chemicals sector. Janet has twenty years of experience in the industry.
Janet earned an MA Cantab.(First) in Geography from Newnham College, Cambridge, where she also undertook postgraduate research in geomorphology. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and has also completed a corporate finance program at LBS.

- Stephen Anderson
Stephen Anderson, BSc (Hons), Investment Partner
Stephen is responsible for overseeing the development of Edinburgh Partners' research and portfolio risk management infrastructure.
From 2001 until 2003 Stephen was Head of the Research Analysis Group at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. This was a new group set up to provide leading edge research infrastructure and support. He led the team which created an innovative research portal to support and reinforce the investment process.
Prior to 2001 Stephen held a variety of senior posts at Murray Johnstone Limited and was appointed to the board in 1993. He has successfully managed money in Japanese, American and UK equities including periods as Head of US Equities and Head of UK Equities. In particular, Stephen was responsible for all of the firms' largest pension fund clients. He has also spent time as a Director of Risk and Performance tasked with embedding risk assessment and control within the research/portfolio management process. Stephen was at Murray Johnstone from 1984 to 2001.
He holds an Honours degree in Mathematics from Glasgow University.

- Craig Armour
Craig Armour, LLB (Hons) CA, Investment Partner
Craig is responsible for researching companies in the global consumer sector.
Craig joined Edinburgh Partners in July 2009 as an investment consultant, becoming a Partner in December 2009. Prior to joining Edinburgh Partners Craig had 9 years experience in private equity. From 2007 to 2009 Craig established and ran the Scottish office of LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group. From 2000 until 2007, Craig was an equity partner in Penta Capital, responsible for originating and managing investments in the leisure and business services sector.
Before working in private equity, Craig was a corporate financier with merchant bank Noble Grossart. There he was responsible for advising public and private companies in a wide range of areas including IPO's P2Ps, mergers, acquisitions, disposals, fund raising and other related issues.
He is a chartered accountant having trained with Arthur Anderson and has an Honours degree in Law from Edinburgh University.

- Ian Cormack
Ian Cormack, BA (Hons), ASIP, Investment Partner
Ian researches the global Buildings and Chemicals sectors and is responsible for managing several client portfolios.
Ian was an Investment Director on the UK equity desk and manager of growth retail funds at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership having joined in March 2002.
Prior to joining Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Ian spent 13 years with Standard Life Investments and was appointed Investment Director in November 1998.
Ian holds a BA (Hons) in Accountancy & Finance and is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

- Alasdair Cummings
Alasdair Cummings, BComm (Hons), Investment Associate
Alasdair is responsible for researching the global Oil and Resources sector at Edinburgh Partners.
Prior to joining Edinburgh Partners in April 2008, Alasdair worked at UBS Investment Bank in London for six years, where he had roles as an equity analyst and a credit analyst. Latterly, he was the Senior Utilities Credit Analyst, covering the pan-European sector. Alasdair was part of the utility team which was voted number one in the 2007 Institutional Investor fixed income survey.
Alasdair graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a first class Honours degree in Business Studies.

- Anthony Mather
Anthony Mather, BA, ASIP, Investment Partner
Tony researches the global Utilities, Media and Tobacco sectors and is responsible for managing several client portfolios.
Tony was a member of the UK Equity Investment team at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership where he was an Investment Director responsible for income retail funds. Tony's funds were consistently rated by S&P.
Prior to joining Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in 2001, he worked for Edinburgh Fund Managers, for six years, as a Fund Manager and had responsibility for several Income and Growth retail funds, encompassing large and small cap. exposure. Tony has also worked for Warburg Asset Management (Jersey) Ltd, Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte and Guardian Royal Exchange in a number of different positions.
Tony holds a BA in Economics from Heriot Watt University and is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

- George Ritchie
George Ritchie, MA, ASIP, Investment Partner
George researches the global Industrials sector and is responsible for managing several client portfolios.
George joined Edinburgh Partners in February 2007 after more than 10 years at Franklin Templeton Investments.
At Franklin Templeton, he managed a range of institutional and retail funds, with the latter being rated by both S&P and Morningstar. He was also responsible for research of the Chemicals, Automotive, Commercial Services and Diversified Financial sectors on a global basis, as well as UK, Benelux and Philippine equity markets. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, George spent eleven years at Standard Life, where he was responsible for UK Equity research and managed both segregated pension funds and a portion of the main life fund.
George holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from Edinburgh University and is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

- Dale Robertson
Dale Robertson, BComm, CA, ASIP, Investment Partner
Dale researches the global Banking sector and is responsible for managing several client portfolios, including the Edinburgh Partners European Opportunities Fund and the European Investment Trust.
Dale managed the SW European Growth OEIC and the SW European Select Growth at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (between 12/01 and 6/03). He researched European financials.
Prior to joining Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, he worked for Edinburgh Fund Managers, for five years, as an Investment Manager and had responsibility for managing a mixture of retail and institutional funds. In addition to these responsibilities he also covered consumer and media sectors. Dale started his career with Arthur Anderson as a business analyst where he gained his CA qualification.
Dale has lectured in a variety of Advanced Finance topics to students training with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (financial markets, M&A, company valuation techniques, dividend policy etc). He also has experience of working with entrepreneurs in Scotland, helping them with business forecasting and fund raising.
Dale holds a Batchelor of Commerce with Distinction degree from the University of Edinburgh; is a Chartered Accountant and achieved a Diploma in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling. He is also an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

- Robin Weir
Robin Weir, BA (Hons), Investment Partner
Robin researches the global Pharmaceuticals sector and is responsible for managing several client portfolios.
Prior to joining Edinburgh Partners Robin was with Scottish Widows Investment Partnership from 2001 to 2005. Latterly, he was European Equity Research Manager responsible for institutional fund investments in continental Europe and for ensuring high standards of research output. Before taking on this role he had been Head of UK Life Funds and a member of the Global Equities team researching the global energy sector.
Earlier in his career Robin spent 9 years with Murray Johnstone as an equity analyst across a variety of asset classes. He was also a UK Equity Investment Director. He began his investment career with Nomura International in London and Tokyo.
Robin holds a BA (Hons) in History from Queens' College, Cambridge.

- Graham Wood
Graham Wood, BSc (Hons) Investment Partner
Graham is responsible for our Portfolio Risk Appraisal and Applied Research functions.
In 2001, Graham joined Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) as Head of International Research. From 2003 - 2009 he was CIO Equities and a Director of SWIP.
Graham began his career at Standard Life spending time in various departments whilst qualifying as an actuary.
From 1982 - 1992 he researched UK and Irish equities within the UK Investment team. He was responsible for setting up the UK equity research team, in addition to which he managed a portfolio of Investment Trusts and pension funds. He also became deputy head of UK equities during this period.
After spending two years in the Finance and Acturial area, he returned to the Investment team as Head of UK equities responsible for some £20bn of assets.
His role was subsequently extended to include oversight of the continental European equity team and membership of the asset allocation group.
Graham graduated from the University of St Andrews in 1978 with a BSc (Hons) in Statistics and became a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries in 1982.

- Ken Fraser
Ken Fraser, BA (Hons), ASIP, Client Relations Partner
Ken is a client director for pooled and segregated clients. He also promotes Edinburgh Partners with institutional investors and develops relationships with Investment Consultants, Multi-Manager providers and Fund of Fund Managers.
Ken has worked in the investment industry since 1986. Prior to joining Edinburgh Partners he was an Executive Director of WM Company - part of the Deutsche Bank Group. He was Head of Client Management responsible for the firm's global Performance Measurement clients.
Between 1995 and 1999 he was with Templeton Investment Management as European Institutional Manager responsible for sales and client service. Before moving to Templeton, Ken spent 8 years with Murray Johnstone. He was a Director of Murray Johnstone Asset Management; a senior investment manager and research analyst. Earlier in his career he was a research analyst with Royal Insurance in London and a lecturer in economics.
Ken holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Glasgow Caledonian University and is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

- Jamie Mackintosh
Jamie Mackintosh, BSc (Hons), Sales Partner
Jamie is responsible for promoting Edinburgh Partners with institutional investors and developing relationships with Investment Consultants, Multi-Manager providers and Fund of Fund Managers.
Jamie has worked in Investment Management since 1994. Prior to joining Edinburgh Partners he worked for AEGON Asset Management in Edinburgh, where he was responsible for maintaining consultant relationships and developing new business opportunities.
Between 1994 and 2002 he worked at various companies within the AMP Group. First AMP Asset Management and latterly Henderson Global Investors, where he undertook a number of sales and business development roles.
He has an Honours degree in Marine & Environmental Biology from St Andrews University.

- Cathy Alsop
Cathy Alsop, BA, MBA, Managing Director, Head of Sales & Client Service for Edinburgh Partners North America Inc.
At Edinburgh Partners, Cathy is Managing Director and Head of Sales and Client Service of Edinburgh Partners North America Inc.; client director for North American clients and responsible for promoting the Company with consultants and prospects in that region.
Cathy joined Edinburgh Partners in October 2007 and is based in New York. She brings with her a wealth of experience and a broad range of skills in investment and client service.
Before joining Edinburgh Partners, Cathy was Senior Vice President Client Service at Franklin Templeton Institutional in New York, where she was client director for several separate account and institutional fund clients.
Prior to that, Cathy marketed international equity and fixed income products in her role as the US Marketing Director for UK-based international investment firm, WorldInvest (New Star) as well as having responsibility for client service. She has also held roles in corporate finance with Morgan Grenfell and Banque Worms.
Cathy has a BA in French from the George Washington University and an MBA in Finance from Pace University.
